I finally got this little quilt listed in the shop, along with a few new sachet sets. The boys are in bed and I am off to work on bibs for a while before settling down for some hexagon time. Sheesh, I feel like a sewing-druggie; I can't get enough!

Inspired by all the beautiful weather we've been having in California, here is a sunny little patchwork play mat. I have had all these bright fabrics lying around from previous projects and couldn't resist putting them together. It is available in my shop...
Today was such a gorgeous day! Finally there was no fog, and we spent a long afternoon outside enjoying the blue sky and the green grass. The sunshine also allowed me to take pictures of this quilt that I finally finished. Green and blue, just like the farm. I had all these skinny little strips of fabric and started sewing them together without really planning. This quilt kind of made itself, in a way. Maybe that's why it took SO long to finish. :) It is available in my shop.
Here is the quilt top of a custom order I've been working on. The customer chose such bright and fun prints! I'm having tons of fun working on this and another gender-neutral one. I'll post more pictures as I finish these up. Today I hope to sew on the sashing and baste them (fingers crossed on that - Moses has soccer practice this evening and I'm still not organized enough to keep that from throwing off the whole rest of the day.)
I'm loving the orange-purple combination here. Pretty sweet. Happy Monday!
With my upcoming trip to Montana looming, I have been making lists like crazy. Lists of what to pack in what bag, lists of what to do before I leave, lists of questions I have about traveling with a baby cross-referenced with which friends to ask these questions, lists of what I need to buy... and all the lists are rattling around in my brain (usually writing them down helps, but this time it isn't) distracting me from everything else I need to do. Like keep two children alive, for instance. Hopefully we all survive tomorrow so Titus and I can get on the plane early Friday morning and put us all out of our misery.
Last week I was lamenting the fact that I was still wearing shorts, and today I'm in a sweater! That happened fast. Oh well, the Indian Summer quilt is in the shop anyways. :) I was really tempted to keep this one to use as a wall hanging, but decided it would go better with a baby and lots of snuggling.
I've FINALLY found the perfect backing for my ultra plush baby blankets and have thus been able to make a few tweaks to the overall design of the blankets. The new minkee backing is just as soft and fabulous as the previous backing (I think it's even better), but it holds up better to quilting, which means I can now make the front of the blankets in patchwork! Hooray! The blankets are now lightly quilted, which holds the front and back layers together better.
I've added two new blankets to the shop and have lots of ideas for more. I love that I can now incorporate more than one fabric on the front - the possibilities are endless! Happy weekend!
