Polka Dots
Here's another bib - this one is for the girlies. I was so excited to use this polka dot print. It is from Japan (which always makes fabric more special for some reason) and is SO silky and gorgeous, but I couldn't find anything to go with it. Then I paired it with this Amy Butler print and it worked just right. I always find myself drawn to color and pattern combinations that almost match - I don't like combinations that are too predictable. It is newly listed in my shop - go check her out!

Tags are here!
Hooray - today my new tags arrived in the mail! I had to order special tags for my bibs since they are not 100% cotton - the velcro attachments add nylon to the mix. I have a growing stack of patchwork bibs waiting for tags and then binding. I'm hoping to get some of them finished up and photographed in the next few days and then into the shop. I'm making a lot of "boy bibs" since I always have trouble finding cute things for my own boys - hopefully you like them!

More Bibs
A dear friend of mine is having her first baby soon, and I made these bibs for her. As usual, these were hard to part with, even though I no longer have any bib-wearers in the house. Isn't this bike print adorable? I love it.
I know I've said it before, but I am definitely working to get bibs back in the shop soon. I'll be switching to a velcro closure rather than snaps because of all the new laws about putting metal on kids items (even though I use strictly lead-free snaps, the documentation involved makes it easier to just make the switch). Once I make that adjustment and get special tags made up, you too can put a Junie None bib on your baby.

Afternoon on the Farm
Today was such a gorgeous day! Finally there was no fog, and we spent a long afternoon outside enjoying the blue sky and the green grass. The sunshine also allowed me to take pictures of this quilt that I finally finished. Green and blue, just like the farm. I had all these skinny little strips of fabric and started sewing them together without really planning. This quilt kind of made itself, in a way. Maybe that's why it took SO long to finish. :) It is available in my shop.

Triangles!
I've posted a new mini quilt in the shop made entirely from triangles. This was my very first time using triangles EVER because they are such a pain to cut out. However, now that I have my new little toy it was easy! I used only fabrics from my scrap drawer, too, which made it even more fun. If someone gave this to me I would have a hard time deciding whether to let my baby use it or hang it up for decoration. More triangle quilts to come...

Custom Quilts
I finished up the custom order I've been working on, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I really wanted to keep this bright one - I just love how the pure white sashing makes all the colors pop. Not very practical for a baby quilt, I know, but sometimes these things just need to be done.
I keep saying "and now I'm going to put some more things in the shop," but who knows what will pop up next. I keep almost finishing quilts and other projects, then spazzing off to start something else. Hopefully I can stay focused this week and actually get something finished. Happy Monday to you all!

Custom Patchwork Quilt
Here is the quilt top of a custom order I've been working on. The customer chose such bright and fun prints! I'm having tons of fun working on this and another gender-neutral one. I'll post more pictures as I finish these up. Today I hope to sew on the sashing and baste them (fingers crossed on that - Moses has soccer practice this evening and I'm still not organized enough to keep that from throwing off the whole rest of the day.)
I'm loving the orange-purple combination here. Pretty sweet. Happy Monday!

Bibs
Here are the bibs I finished as a custom order yesterday. I LOVE how they turned out. Too bad Titus will not wear bibs at all any more, because these are still big enough to fit him and it would sure make for less laundry! These are great because they work for little babies just starting to eat solids all the way up to 18 months old - I put one on Titus to show you how they fit.
I'm still working on the labeling for these, which is why there aren't any in the shop. I love making them by special request, though, so if you want any just let me know!

Little Farm Quilt
Here is the quilt I've been working on for the last few weeks. I decided to experiment by quilting it heavily, something I've never done. I really like how it turned out - the close quilting seams give the quilt a slightly nubby texture that is quite nice. Titus LOVED it - he kept rubbing his little (clean) hands all over it and smiling at me. I will say that quilting it like this took MUCH longer than usual and was a bit tedious, so I'm not sure if I will be doing it again any time soon! It's available in my shop. (Oh, and the edges of the quilt are straight - it just hung funny and kept blowing in the wind, which makes it look all wavy-edged.)

Happy Quilt Day
I love this quilt, partly because I used Momo's "Wonderland" fabrics in it, (and they are possibly my favorite fabrics EVER) and partly because of all the vintage fabrics I was able to integrate into it as well. Modern and vintage together just look so cool. This blanket is newly listed in the shop, thanks to a little break in the clouds today. I managed to throw on my boots and run through the mud, rig up a clothes line, pin up the quilt and snap a few shots before the boys woke up from their naps or the sun went back into hiding.

New Minis in the Shop:

I snatched a few shreds of real sunlight the other day to photograph a few mini quilts for the shop. They can be found here - this is the girly-est one of the bunch. :)

Real Life
No artsy photo to go with this one. Just a picture of what things look like around here lately. Me: no shower, baby on shoulder (along with baby barf in various levels of dryness), hair in bad pony tail, sitting on floor surrounded by unfolded laundry and toys, trying to get something - anything! accomplished with one arm. Moses: in an outfit of his own choosing (one of my favorites: red and blue striped polo shirt and brown and black camo pants with blue snow boots. Classic.), alternately running like a wild banshee through the house with his new Nerf gun and "helping Titus settle down" by telling him "I'm here, I'm here" in a high-pitched voice that mimicks my own. Titus: on my shoulder, either sleeping or crying himself to sleep. When not there, he can be found on my boob. And that's real life for ya.

Modern Summer
I listed this little patchwork security blanket in the shop the other day. I seriously think turquoise and orange is my new favorite color combination. Plus I'm super excited about how the pictures of this turned out - I finally started taking photos outside, and the colors come out much truer. And special thanks to Jodi over at Every Day Beautiful for featuring my security blankets! Check out her shop - it is where I bought the fabric for this blanket and lots of the others. You'll definitely find it hard to leave without buying something!

Preview of Things to Come
In addition to working on this last minute Christmas gift (the lighting made the color look a bit weird, but this yarn is the softest shade of green), I've been making up lots of new things for the shop. Here are a few pictures to tantalize you until Wednesday when I make my next shop update.
