One Piece Swim Suits

I have been on a hunt for the perfect one piece for our upcoming trip to Hawaii. It took a bit for me to get this far - I've always been a bikini girl and it's taken a bit of mental work to realize that no matter how in shape I get, after being pregnant with and breastfeeding two children I am probably going to be a one piece gal from now on. *sigh* Now that I've done a bit of research, however, I've realized that there are a lot of really cute one piece options out there. I'm a huge fan of rucheing - it adds a little bit of (ahem) bulk to areas that need it and distracts from other areas I wish had less bulk.

The other day two possible swimsuits arrived in the mail and I locked myself in the room to try them on, telling my husband that I would be a LONG time and that if I came out crying he was to just leave me alone and not ask any questions. However, I was pleasantly surprised by both - NOT ugly, NOT frumpy, actually quite flattering and cute. I am no longer dreading my vacation! How about you - are you a one piecer or a bikini gal? Any good one piece suggestions for me?

I find it VERY hard to believe that you need a one-piece! I'm a tankini girl myself. I caved and tried a rouched swim mini from Lands End this summer. LOVE it! ENJOY Hawaii. So jealous...

Yay! I'm so glad you found something! I did like the top left swim suit a lot, and I agree on the benefits of rouching.

So which one did you end up getting? I think we have the same body type/problem areas. After having baby I haven't gotten a 1 piece because I think it might be much worse than finding jeans that fit :(
I just wear my bikini and never take my cover up off.

Hi Jamie!! I ended up getting the one pictured in the bottom left - the swim dress. I seriously thing you would be pleasantly surprised to try some of these on - it's not as bad as you might think and a huge relief to be covered up and not having to worry about weird body areas. :)

A friend of mine gave me a one piece that has a big slit down the front that is supposed to be sexy, i suppose. Unfortunately, i just look more like a 12 year old boy in a one piece than a sexy lady. sigh. I have another one though that is leopard print and cute that i got from this site: http://www.mybabyjo.com/swimwear.htm
i like your selection. :)

I'm a tankini girl (my tummy, no matter how trim, can't do binikis after babies). I got four tops and two bottoms on sale at Vickies... mix and match all summer until the cows come home. =)

Mandy - that is so funny! I look the same in the low cut ones, only I look like a PREGNANT 12 year old boy. That site has SUCH cute suits! The cherry print is adorable.
